Vanessa Bryant Misses Her ‘Best Friend’ and Isn’t Sleeping Well: ‘She’s Worried About Her Girls’

Vanessa Bryant misses her family and is understandably still coping with the sudden loss of her husband, Kobe Bryant, and their 13-year-old daughter, Gianna. Kobe and Gianna were killed in a helicopter crash on January 26 alongside seven other passengers.

Vanessa has been left alone with the couple’s three other daughters and is struggling to get through each day. A source close to the family has told People that Vanessa is “processing” her grief and that the “shock hasn’t entirely worn off. She’s very tired; she hasn’t been sleeping. She’s worried about her girls, worried about what happens next.”

The source also shared that the tributes and memorials have meant a lot to Vanessa and the family. “Every memorial means something to her. Every memorial is important.”

Fortunately, the source also says that Vanessa has a strong support system around her that’s filled tons of family and friends who are helping her get through: “She’s got people around her who are helping her: physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally. She has spent the last week surrounded by people who love her and want only the best for her. She’s really being loved and cared for. And so are the girls.”

Last week, Vanessa announced that a fund has been established to help the families of the other victims of the helicopter crash. She also recently shared a photo of Kobe, along with the words that she most misses hearing from him. She captioned the photo “#mybestfriend #theBestdaddy Miss you so much. #handsome #sweet #funny #silly #lovinghusband ❤️Miss you saying, ‘Bonjourno principessa/reina.’”

Vanessa has also personally requested that certain tributes to Kobe and Gianna that have been left at the Staples Center be given to the family.
