Twitter Reacts To Simone Biles Being A Offered Coloring Book

“I said, ‘No, I’m good. I’m 25.'”

You know Simone Biles. I mean, come on.

She is beauty, she is grace, and she also just so happens to be 4 feet 8 inches tall.

Recently, while appearing to be on a flight home from receiving her Medal of Freedom, Biles revealed on Instagram that flight attendants offered her a coloring book — which, ya know, are usually reserved for children.

i’m crying at the thought of a flight attendant giving simone biles the most decorated gymnast in history a coloring book because she is 4’8”

“Not the flight attendant trying to give me a coloring book when I board,” the Olympic gold medalist joked in reference to the situation. “I said, ‘No, I’m good. I’m 25.'”

Though Biles turned down the offer, I — and many people who came across her post — must admit that the offer sounds very tempting.

Coloring books being offered on planes feels like the perfect distraction for flight anxiety.

@mattxiv Honestly, they should start offering everyone a coloring book. Who doesn’t like to color?

And while half of commenters mused on the joy of coloring books, others related to Biles’ experience with tales of their own short king/queen woes, like this 36-year-old who is still offered children’s menus:

@mattxiv Checking in at 5′ tall and currently 36 years old. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Within the last couple of years I was offered the children’s menu & crayons when out to dinner with my now-wife and a friend. Makes me wonder what strangers think when I answer the door at my own house.

Or this woman who was mistaken for a child when a door-to-door salesman came knocking:

@mattxiv I’m 4’11 and once a salesman knocked on my door and when I answered, asked if my Mum or Dad was home. I was in my early 30’s and the home owner. After my initial shock I just said no and shut the door 😂

This 30-year-old is still carded but finds joy in being mistaken for a student and getting student discounts:

@mattxiv I was legitimately carded through my 30s and was charged the student rate at the community pool in my mid-30s. My then boyfriend’s roommate’s girlfriend lectured my boyfriend about dating someone so young. He was 35 and I was 38. Small women are often underestimated.

And this unsuspecting adult was just minding their business, waiting on an Uber when a school bus stopped to pick them up:

@mattxiv I always tell the story about how the middle school bus stopped for me while waiting for an Uber one morning lmao i was 27

Sometimes, though, commenters said the experience can be a little condescending.

@mattxiv Deceased. I am 5’2 and when I was a teenager sometimes adults would kneel down to “get on my level” to talk to me like I was 5.

But Biles seems to have taken the mixup in stride. What a queen!
