Tom Cruise Once Scaled A Fence To Attend Kate Hudson’s Party While Her Parents Were Out Of Town

Kate Hudson and her brother Oliver Hudson recently sat down with Ellen Degeneres to chat about their famous family and Sibling Revelry, the podcast the two produce. Since the podcast is all about sibling relationships, Kate and Oliver spent a fair bit of time talking about their lives growing up famous.

Kate says that she was the more responsible sibling and that she would get stressed when the two would throw parties while their parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, were out of town. She especially liked to keep tabs on how many people were coming and going.

She said that two had one particularly memorable party that really worked her nerves.

“I just always wanted to make sure everything worked out OK… I’m standing at the door making sure people who aren’t supposed to be at the party aren’t coming in. There’s like 400 people in my parents’ house, and I’m kind of freaking out a bit. The control freak in me is like, ‘This is not OK.’”

On top of that, Kate realized that someone was trying to sneak into the event.

“I see someone scaling, literally scaling, an eight-foot gate at my parents’ house. I’m literally freaking out. They come off and do a back handspring thing. I’m about to yell at this guy, and it’s Tom Cruise! And I was like, ‘Oh, I didn’t realize you were coming to our party.’ He was like, ‘I heard there was a party.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, Tom, come on in!’ He is Mission: Impossible! It was wild.”

That is pretty wild! But it always sounds like Kate and Oliver had quite a colorful childhood. They talk about it a lot on their podcast, and Kate also recently shared even more about what it was like to have Goldie and Kurt as your relationship models. The two just celebrated 37 years together.
