‘They are gonna lie to you’: Ashley Furniture worker told customers their purchases would be ready in a week. Now they won’t be delivered until December

A woman called out Ashley Furniture as a “scam” and warned others not to order from the furniture retailer in a viral TikTok video.

She’s just the latest in a string of complaints from customers who’ve had significant delays on their items, received incomplete orders, or even been signed up for the store’s credit card without consent.

While Ashley Furniture has a rating of A+ from the Better Business Bureau, it has an average customer review score of just 1.06 stars out of 5.

In the clip, Keily Chaurio (@keilychaurio) explained her expensive months-long horror story with the retailer.

“Ashley Furniture is the worst place for you to buy furniture. Literally never do that to yourself,” Chaurio says.

The creator explains that the saga started two months ago when she and her partner were shopping for furniture for their new home.

They needed to furnish the entire place and decided to get everything—including a bed set, dining set, couch, and office furniture—in one go from Ashley Furniture. While Chaurio only said that they spent “a lot of money,” based on the average amount it costs to furnish a home, it’s safe to assume they dropped at least $10,000.

Despite how much they spent, the couple was excited about their purchase, and the store representative told them they’d have everything delivered within a week.

That promise was made in early September, and more than a month later, the full set of furniture still hadn’t arrived. Instead, Chaurio and her partner were now being told the items may not be available until December—a whopping four months after it was supposed to arrive.

At one point, the pair spent weeks sleeping with their mattress on the floor because they’d disassembled their bed frame to make room for the new one that arrived significantly later.

“I don’t even care about the money. All I want is my furniture because I really need to put my place together, and we have drawers everywhere and clothes everywhere in boxes and everything just because of them,” Chaurio says. “This is very disrespectful.”

Chaurio added that the company is already attempting to charge them for furniture they have yet to receive, and their customer service isn’t helpful at all.

She wondered how Ashley Furniture was still in business and said she probably would have been better off shopping at IKEA.

“They are gonna lie to you, and they’re gonna basically scam you,” Chaurio concludes.

@keilychaurio I want to tag them, but i guess i'm not the first person complaining about this before. #ashleyfurniture #scammeralert ♬ original sound – Keilychaurio

This isn’t the first time the furniture store has been called out by customers. Earlier this year, a man claimed that after buying a living room set from Ashely Furniture, the salesperson unwillingly signed him up for several credit cards. When he confronted the district manager about it, he got ghosted.

Another customer who spent nearly $10,000 on a new furniture set said the company’s customer service was bad and the items were low quality. This person specifically got a couch that was delivered with a missing section, USB charging ports that didn’t work, no cup holders, and splintering wood. When she tried to return the items for a refund, she was denied.

Chaurio’s video has more than 60,000 views and over 400 comments as of Tuesday morning.

Several people shared their bad experiences in the comments section.

“I couldn’t agree more , I bought a recliner , it wouldn’t recline once I got it home, instead of replacing it, they kept it for months to repair!” a top comment read.

“My friend waited 4 months to get a bed. She just got it and she said length is weirdly short. wants to return but waiting game again am sure,” a person said.

“We bought a kitchen table and screws are falling out of chairs. This happened to us, they took forever before all of our furniture was delivered,” another shared.
