Show Creator Sara Gilbert Announces Exit From ‘The Talk’ After 9 Years

It was an emotional day on set at The Talk after the show’s creator, Sara Gilbert, announced she would be leaving the show.

“This is hard to do and something … that I have been struggling with for a while and going back and forth, but I have decided that it’s time for me to leave the show at the end of the season,” Sara told her fellow cohosts and people in the audience. “I obviously love it here, and like I said, this was extremely difficult.”

Sara’s decision to leave the show she’s been on for the past 9 years was without a doubt a difficult one, however, her reasons for doing so are completely logical and relatable and has nothing to do with drama or bad blood.

“I loved it and felt totally empowered, but also, if I’m being honest about it, my life was slightly out of balance. I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my three kids as I’d like, or time for myself,” Sara explained to Good Housekeeping.

Makes sense!

Sara’s cohosts, naturally, were one big ol’ collective emotional mess, which is totally understandable. However, the news hit Sharon Osbourne harder than anyone would’ve ever imagined, as the mom-of-two and outspoken wife of music legend Ozzy Osbourne could barely get any words out.

We wish you the best, Sara!
