Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Ḥajar al-‘Asqalānī was asked:…

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Ḥajar al-‘Asqalānī was asked:

“Will (Prophet) ‘Īsā, peace be upon him, descend having memorized the Qur’ān and the Sunnah, or will he receive (knowledge of) them through the scholars of that time?”

He answered: “Nothing explicit has been related about that, but what is fitting for his station, peace and blessings be upon him, is that he will learn them from Rasūlullāh ﷺ and shall judge among his people according to what he will receive from him ﷺ because he is in reality a deputy (khalīfah) on his ﷺ behalf.”

[Imām Ibn ‘Ābidīn, Radd al-Muhtār, al-Muqaddimah]

Imagine that: A Messenger of Allāh (peace be upon him) being taught the Qur’ān and the Sunnah by the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ himself! Allāhu Akbar.
