“There just isn’t anyone else who’s ever talked about me this way.”

For context, rumors of a feud between SJP and Kim have long been around — but things got a lot more public in 2017, after claims emerged that Kim was the reason a third SATC movie was scrapped at the last minute. Kim denied the claims and said that she never intended to reprise her role as Samantha.

Woke 2 a @MailOnline 💩storm! The only ‘DEMAND’ I ever made was that I didn’t want to do a 3rd film….& that was back in 2016

Kim then then emphasized her “empowered decision” to leave the franchise in an interview later that year, and claimed she and the other women were “never friends, just colleagues.” SJP herself replied to the claim by saying, “I found it very upsetting. That’s not the way I recall our experience.”

Following Kim’s brother’s death in early 2018, Kim accused SJP of “continuous reaching out” and “exploiting [the] tragedy in order to restore [her] ‘nice girl’ persona.”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Kim said that she was never asked to be a part of And Just Like That. SJP herself said that she wouldn’t be “OK” with Kim joining the reboot.

Now, speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, SJP said that she wanted “to kind of run through how it happened” with Kim.

According to SJP, issues with Kim started around the third SATC movie. “[Warner Bros] didn’t feel comfortable meeting where she wanted to meet, and so we didn’t do the movie because we didn’t want to do it without Kim,” she said, noting that she, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon were “disappointed.”

As for what Kim has said about the original SATC run, SJP said that she found it “very painful” as it didn’t reflect the experiences of her, and the other two women. “I’ve spent a lot of years working really hard to always be decent to everybody on the set,” she continued. “And there just isn’t anyone else who’s ever talked about me this way.”

SJP then confirmed that Kim wasn’t asked to be a part of And Just Like That, noting, “She made it clear that that wasn’t something she wanted to pursue, and it no longer felt comfortable for us, and so it didn’t occur to us.”

“I just want to say one thing, because you’ve allowed me this opportunity: it’s so painful for people to keep talking about this ‘catfight,’” she continued. “There is not a ‘fight’ going on. There has been no public dispute or spat or conversations or allegations made by me or anybody on my behalf. I wouldn’t do it. That is not the way I would have it. So I just wish that they would stop calling this a ‘catfight’ or an ‘argument,’ because it doesn’t reflect [reality]. There has been one person talking.”
