Pentagon Officially Releases Three Unclassified UFO Videos Taken By Navy Pilots

On Monday, the Pentagon officially released three short videos illustrating “unidentified aerial phenomena,” better known to us as UFOs. The UFO videos were taken by Navy pilots and first published by The New York Times in 2017.

The videos feature infrared footage showing the UFOs moving rapidly. In two of the UFO videos, service members can be heard marveling at the quick movements. One speculates the object may be a drone. One video is from 2004, and the other two were recorded in January 2015.

The Pentagon confirmed the veracity of the videos last year. They are releasing them now that they’ve examined them more closely to determine they didn’t include any sensitive information. They were shot in military air space, so privacy concerns necessitated a thorough review of the footage.

“After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorized release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena,” said Sue Gough, a Defense Department spokeswoman.

“DOD is releasing the videos in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos,” she continued. “The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as ‘unidentified.’”

This isn’t the Pentagon confirming the existence of aliens, however. They’re simply confirming that the objects captured in the footage can’t be identified or explained by current aeronautical knowledge.
