Palestine prior to islamic conquest.

Palaestina Prima (I), Secunda (II) and Salutoris or Tertia (Ill) were the Roman provinces of the Diocese of the East which existed from 395 to 636 AD. Diocese were a Roman subdivisional system. These provinces came into being as a result of administrative reforms to reduce the chances of revolts. It was temporarily lost to Persians after Jewish revolt but was later regained by byzantines following a treaty between Persians and Byzantine Empire. Palaestina provinces dissolved and were replaced by Jund Filastin following Must Conquest of Levant.
