Gaming streamer Valkyrae has amassed an impressive fanbase of over 4 million YouTube subscribers. She’s known for her breakthrough success, especially as a woman, in the gaming genre. The star is a co-owner of the gaming organization 100 Thieves, making her incredibly well-respected.

Her dedicated fans have gotten to know her on a more-so personal level since, as an influencer, she’s spoken several times about her real life. However, she’s kept her dating history pretty much under wraps, which has left fans to speculate. Who is she dating?

Who is Valkyrae dating?

Officially, no one knows. However, there is a huge conspiracy that she might be dating Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, otherwise called Hasanabi, who is known for his hyper political content and commentary.

In July 2023, popular Twitter user Corn started a rumor that she was off the market when he tweeted, “VALKYRAE HAS A BOYFRIEND?” Not much clarity followed and fans were left to speculate amongst themselves.

It’s mostly thought that Corn was trolling at the time or trying to get a public reaction. Even so, some fans have long since thought that Valkyrae was seeing Hasan, so it gave them some sort of validation in that belief.

Hasan and Valkyrae were spotted at Coachella 2022 together, which is the first time fans saw them actually interact in person. After that, the pair seemed to get closer as they interacted online more, including a slew of Instagram likes back and forth.

They have since seen each other in person, including gaming events like OTV AnimeExpo afterparty, Mogul Money Live, and a friend’s birthday party. Rae and Hasan typically seem close when pictured together.

In a since deleted clip from Rae’s friend Mira, she seems to stop short before revealing Hasan’s name and indicating that Rae and him were involved with each other. However, it’s still speculation at the end of the day.

If the pair are together, they would have needed to hide for a long time by this point, which isn’t easy to do when your life is so public facing.

In late 2023, people really started to press Rae and Hasan for answers, but they’ve been tight lipped about the entire situation. In Hasan’s Twitch chat, he noticed in uptick of questions about her when he was talking about going on a trip.

“No, she’s not coming,” he said. “I don’t know why you guys are asking me about this. No, this is a boys only trip. No [QT Cinderella], no Rae. No girls and no cooties.”

A fan on Reddit wrote: “I’ve had the feeling that they have some kind of ‘more than friends’ relationship, but I never dwelled on it because I’m too old to be caring all that much about who streamers are dating/involved with … Streaming is hard work and takes away a lot of your social life, but you can still have relationships with people. I don’t buy the ‘I’m too busy to date’ excuse all that much when it comes to streamers.”

The comment continued: “I just wonder why they’ve been so secretive about it. Unless they’re just f–k buddies, why be so guarded? Especially in Hasan’s case. He’s a guy that always kicks off his streams with personal updates.”

Researchers Are Working To Ensure Children’s Medication Is Safer In The Future And To Avoid “Off-Label” Dosing

Source: ShutterstockSource: Shutterstock

In recent years we’ve learned that things like crash test dummies are only created to make crashes safer for male victims, and are never made to mimic female or children’s bodies.

It turns out that using adult males as the default is a common practice in the pharmaceutical field, too, which means much of the medication that’s marketed to kids hasn’t been fully vetted.

Also, why there’s a frustrating lack of treatment options beyond your basic painkillers.

When drugs get approved for use, it’s almost always because it has cleared hurdles and been declared safe for adults. These are drugs for mental health disorders, cancer, rare diseases, and a bunch of other conditions that are more mundane.

None of those drugs, though, are for children – and pediatricians like Mark Turner are getting increasingly frustrated at not being able to help their patients in the same ways.

Source: ShutterstockSource: Shutterstock

If they want to use drugs for kids, from newborns to older children, they have to prescribe them “off-label,” which means using them differently than what’s printed on the package.

This 10-year study looked at 1.74 billion outpatient visits at pediatric facilities. They found that around 40% of those visits resulted in an off-label prescription being handed out.

Antihistamines are the most common, followed by antibiotics and antidepressants. As for the latter, many doctors, like Daniel Horton (one of the authors), say there is less evidence that supports the idea that antidepressants benefit children.

Popular antidepressants, like Trazodone, Citalopram, and Wellbutrin have not been approved to treat any condition in children, and the list of potential side effects is long. Other drugs, like Zoloft, is only approved to treat OCD in children, not depression, and potential side effects are one of the reasons for that, too.

Horton’s paper puts forth concerns with off-label ordering, like a greater room for error or the potential for surprises. He says 1-2% of children react badly to FDA-approved medicines, and when they’re given off-label, that percentage is half a point higher. Many of the risks are small and easily managed, but some of them are not.

One of the drug types where this problem crops up frequently are with antipsychotics, which are often given to young people who have behavioral issues. Studies suggest that kids are more likely to become aggressive and to struggle with suicidal thoughts while taking these off-label.

Source: ShutterstockSource: Shutterstock

Although the vast majority of these drugs seem to be safe, even when used differently than approved, but most believe the lack of proper testing could always come back to bite kids in the end. Side effects can be different or more severe, or the medications might be less effective in kids.

One reason this is all so difficult is that children’s bodies and brains are still developing, and often their organs function differently than they do in adulthood. So, what might work for an infant wouldn’t work for a third grader wouldn’t work for a high schooler, and vice versa. Ideally, all developmental stages would be represented in a clinical trial.

Nearly all of what babies receive in the neonatal intensive care unit has not been officially tested or cleared for babies their size and gestational age. Everyone seems to wish there were more trials that included children, but there are practical and financial reasons why that’s unlikely to happen.

In the gap, The American Academy of Pediatrics gets together to create dosing guidelines by expert consensus. This will include looking at literature, input from regulators or world organizations, along with their combined clinical expertise.

While good and thorough, it’s not the same as meeting the expectations that are set before medications can be prescribed to adults.

Source: ShutterstockSource: Shutterstock

Children have historically been excluded from medical trials, since they are considered vulnerable and at-risk, and also because they’re not able to consent. Now, most scientists believe that should change since clinical trials are appropriately safe.

Not only that, but drugs that have been tested and found to actually work for kids would be great.

And this all is obviously a much higher-stakes game for parents of kids with rare or terminal diseases. They could have to leave the country to get access to some pediatric drugs in experimental stages, because the US still balks at enrolling kids in these trials.

As with most things in this world, a lot of this comes down to money – money to be spent and the potential for money to be made, and the bottom line is that more adults than children require regular medication. And if the drug companies don’t think they’ll be able to sell a bunch of something, they don’t have much interest in research or trials.

All drugs that are created to treat rarer diseases face the same hurdles, and since fewer children than adults get sick, it’s even harder to find willing test subjects to include in the first place.

Source: ShutterstockSource: Shutterstock

Congress is trying to push for change, with both the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act and the Pediatric Research Equity Act, but even those are struggling to really move the needle.

One reason is that the incentives just aren’t good enough, and once there’s a lapsed patent and the drug is offered as a generic, they don’t apply at all.

Which is all to say, the medical community seems to be at a bit of a loss, and a bit at odds with the pharmaceutical industry when it comes to spending the time and money that would be required to make sure these drugs were safe for children.

Make of that what you will.

29 Shoes That Really Were Made For Spring

Cariuma shoes had been relentlessly advertised to me for a good long while, so when the opportunity popped up to try them, I jumped on it. Honestly, I didn’t think they’d live up to the hype. I get blisters so incredibly easily, and my last two pairs of sneakers were total duds, continuing to rub me raw over a year later. I wasn’t super optimistic when I slipped into my new shoes for an afternoon of errand-running, but by the end of the day, I was a Cariuma convert. They’re cute, incredibly lightweight, and comfy right out of the thoughtfully packaged box (no plastic, recycled and recyclable — we love to see it). My Cariumas have quickly become my go-to shoe, and they continue to get comfier and comfier the longer I break them in, as the cork and memory foam sole mold to my feet. A year in, and so far, so great!

Get them from Cariuma for $129 (available in sizes 5–13 and eight colors).

‘Harry Potter’ Author J.K. Rowling ‘Could Be Investigated’ And Arrested For Misgendering Transgender People

J.K. Rowling could be arrested in Scotland for deliberately misgendering transgender people under a new hate crime law, a politician warns.

On April 1, the day Scotland implemented a new law to tackle hate crime, the Harry Potter author tweeted, “In passing the Scottish Hate Crime Act, Scottish lawmakers seem to have placed higher value on the feelings of men performing their idea of femaleness, however misogynistically or opportunistically, than on the rights and freedoms of actual women and girls.” She added, “I’m currently out of the country, but if what I’ve written here qualifies as an offence under the terms of the new act, I look forward to being arrested when I return to the birthplace of the Scottish Enlightenment.”

In response to her latest comments (which is part of an exhausting 11 tweet thread), Scottish National Party’s community safety minister Siobhian Brown warned the Telegraph that Rowling could be in legal trouble. Her “completely deranged” posts where she misgenders trans women “could be reported and it could be investigated,” Brown said. “Whether or not the police would think it was criminal is up to Police Scotland for that.”

The law creates a criminal offense of “stirring up of hatred”, expanding on a similar offence based on racist abuse that has been on the statute book for decades. The new legislation covers hatred on the basis of age, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation and transgender identity. Someone convicted of stirring up hate could face a fine and a prison term of up to seven years.

It will be tough to make a case against Rowling, however.

As the Telegraph notes, women were omitted from “the list of protected groups included in the legislation,” which means that “threats made against Rowling and other feminists critical of trans ideology could not be investigated under the Bill.” Rowling is daring the authorities to “#ArrestMe” because she knows it likely won’t happen.

‘Basically ran like the Navy’: Expert reveals trick to how Cheesecake Factory can cook such a large menu

Expert reveals trick to how Cheesecake Factory can cook such a large menu

Anyone who has been to Cheesecake Factory has likely had the experience of being overwhelmed by the chain’s expansive menu. The company’s website boasts that the menu contains “more than 250 items”—despite this, they insist that “we make things fresh and from scratch in each restaurant.”

Over the years, many have questioned how such a feat is possible. One internet user recently went viral for their video on the topic, showing their shock at seeing the chain’s large menu. Now, another user with industry experience has chimed in to show how something like this is possible.

“I’ve had plenty of experience in corporate kitchens, and basically how these places work is they have a large prep team, and they also have a very large refrigerator or walk-in, as we call it,” explains TikTok user Isaac (@chefisaacnyc) in a video with over 592,000 views.

“Most places that operate at this level receive two deliveries a week—most of the time, depending on the products,” he continues. “Then, they have a freezer full of products as well for things like, you know, bread or french fries—things you can’t just really replicate unless you have another operation going.”

Isaac continues by noting that kitchens like these are separated into stations, where each chef is trained in one specific area. This allows for an assembly line-like process in which many different cuisines can be cooked at once.

“Through coordination and fresh ingredients, you get really good food,” summarizes Isaac.

According to a 2022 article on the topic in Vox, Isaac’s assessment is essentially correct. Former employees report receiving extensive recipe books—in one case, a book that was “two inches” thick—that only covered a single station for which they were to be trained.

“My station alone had five cooks that would work just 16 burners,” a chef told Vox about his first experience on the line. “It was one guy calling out the guests and starting dishes. It was one guy finishing and garnishing all the dishes, and three guys just cooking. That was just one station.”

@chefisaacnyc #stitch with @noodlewinter Most kitchens organize the staff to work certain items on a menu. From fry, saute, grill, and prep, it’s all organized to operate successfully #cheescake #nyc #linecooks ♬ original sound – chefisaacnyc

Commenters echoed Isaac’s claims.

“Cheesecake factory kitchens are basically ran like the navy LOL, separate sections for broil/grill, pasta, apps, pizza and salad are the different stations i think,” said a user.

“I work at the Cheesecake Factory & I can confirm that also everything on the menu is Fresh and almost all their sauces, dressing are made from scratch!!!” exclaimed another. “They also handbreadth her own chicken [and] they also use their own recipes, which requires them to make everything from scratch!!”

“One I worked at on a busy night had 10-15 cooks, 4-6 prep cooks, 4-5 bakers, 4-5 dishwashers, 3-4 foodrunners,” recounted a third. “it’s a big operation.”

Lupe Fiasco wrote on Instagram, “Rest In Peace Casey Benjamin. I can’t even begin to express the deep gratitude and respect. My deepest condolences to the family, fans and friends. ”

Benjamin’s Robert Glasper Experiment bandmate Derrick Hodge also wrote, “Tonight, I honor a brother. A true brother and friend. She Was Angry Her Husband Ate Dinner Without Her, But He Think She’s Being Too Weirdly Possessive

Source: Reddit/AITA/ShutterstockSource: Reddit/AITA/Shutterstock

Like every experience in life, being married is a little bit (or a lot) different for everyone.

I was honestly surprised by the number of people in the comments who claim they wouldn’t let a spouse know whether or not they were going to be eating dinner at home.

OP’s husband keeps close to the same schedule every day.

AITA when I (34F) get mad when my husband (35M) does things without telling me. He owns his own office and the office closes at 5pm.

The house is about a 20 minute drive away but he usually gets home between 5-6pm because he gets out late sometimes.

Part of that is the two of them having dinner together.

This last situation, he went out to eat dinner with his brother and a business representative to discuss business things.

The reason I got mad was he got home at 6pm and never told me anything about his plans. We usually eat after we put the kids to bed.

So, she was caught off guard when he told her he’d already eaten.

About an hour later, we are getting our young kids to bed and after I ask if he’s planning on cooking potatoes for dinner, he says no but he could make me some because he ate already.

I ask if he’s joking that he ate already and he tells me he went out to dinner. I yelled at him for not telling me.

He said that he didn’t need to tell me because he was still home around the same time he always gets home and that I am absurd for wanting him to tell me where he’s at.

Now she’s wondering whether or not she’s overreacting.

Not only am I mad because he didn’t tell me but the fact that he doesn’t think he has to tell me.

Also mad because he says that he doesn’t do these things very often and that once in a while is okay because he doesn’t do it everyday.

AITA?

Like I said, Reddit has some interesting responses.

The top commenter isn’t exactly sure what to make of this.

Source: Reddit/AITASource: Reddit/AITA

This person, though, doesn’t think OP’s expectations are odd at all.

Source: Reddit/AITASource: Reddit/AITA

A lot of people do think it’s rude not to give a head’s up about dinner out.

Source: Reddit/AITASource: Reddit/AITA

And this commenter agrees OP’s feelings are valid.

Plenty, like this person, think OP is being overbearing for some reason.

I don’t think she’s wrong in this specific instance.

But it sounds like there might be more to unpack.

Superstar Beyoncé Is a Proud Texan, Just Like Her Parents

“It’s my maiden name. My name was Celestine Beyoncé, which at that time was not a cool thing to have that weird name.”

Do we know about Beyoncé without her parents? Sure, they made her, so they’re obviously essential to the story of Beyoncé, but would the singer be the same without her manager father and stylist mother?

Beyonce’s parents were primed to raise a superstar.

Mathew Knowles and Tina Knowles, now Tina Knowles-Lawson (the couple was divorced in 2011 and both have since remarried), had a very large role in making sure you knew about their eldest daughter.

Mathew co-founder Destiny’s Child in 1990, then called Girl’s Tyme, in Houston. The members were Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett. They were signed to Columbia Records in 1997 as Destiny’s Child.

Mathew worked as Beyoncé’s manager until 2011. He also worked as manager for Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. When he stopped working as a manager for his daughter, Beyoncé said, “I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs, and I will continue to follow in their footsteps. He is my father for life, and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me.”

Tina may not have co-created Destiny’s Child but she has helped shape how we all view Beyoncé. She was the costume designer for Destiny’s Child and in their early days, also styled their hair, which makes sense considering she opened Headliners in 1990, a 12-seat hair salon located in Houston.

In addition to dressing the girl group in their early days, Tina wrote the 2002 book Destiny’s Style: Bootylicious Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle Secrets From Destiny’s Child. She launched the House of Deréon clothing line with Beyoncé in 2010. It’s named after her mother Agnes Deréon.

Tina also worked as costumer designer for multiple films starring Beyonce: Austin Powers in Goldmember, Cadillac Records, Dreamgirls, Obsessed, and Pink Panther. You may have noticed her in the 2013’s Life Is But a Dream, 2016’s Beyoncé: Lemonade, 2019’s Homecoming and 2020’s Black Is King. In 2022 she made her voice acting debut in Disney+’s The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder and acting debut in the Lifetime movie Wrath: A Seven Deadly Sins Story alongside Michelle Williams.

Beyonce’s maternal grandmother was just as fashionable as her daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter.

The September 2018 Vogue cover story is about Beyoncé, her mother, and their fashion line. In one of the photographs of Beyoncé and her mother, a framed photograph of her grandmother Agnes Derouen.

Agnes’s second marriage was to a salad mine employee named Albert Lumas Buyince. They had seven children including Tina. Her surname is listed on her birth certificate as Beyoncé, although she often uses the spelling Beyince.

On the In My Head With Heather Thomson podcast in 2020, Tina said, “A lot of people don’t know that Beyoncé is my last name. It’s my maiden name. My name was Celestine Beyoncé, which at that time was not a cool thing to have that weird name. I wanted my name to be Linda Smith because those were the cool names.”

It’s for the best Beyoncé was her last name. Smith-Knowles isn’t nearly as memorable of a name.
