Genius Girl Scout Sells Cookies Featuring Shirtless Jason Momoa

There are five seasons: winter, spring, summer, fall, and Girl Scout cookies.

The Girl Scouts have been an institution in the world of yummy snack foods since 1917. That’s right folks, they’ve been selling cookies since before World War II. Through the Great Depression and fad diets, Girl Scouts cookies have beaten all sorts of odds.

They’ve capitalized on societal changes with ingenious sales tactics like setting up shop outside of weed dispensaries, but that seems a little obvious. If stoners won’t buy cookies then who will. One demographic which is tougher to crack, however, is the suburban mom. Whether it’s because they’re trying to get the family to eat better or their own kids are Girl Scouts and they’re just so sick of looking at the cookies, moms can be a tough market.

What are most moms sure to love though? Hot men.

Specifically, the current king of hot men, Jason Momoa.

So with this thought in mind, brilliant fifth-grader-turned-mom-whisperer Charlotte Holmberg of Colorado printed and cut out shirtless pictures of Jason Momoa and turned her boxes of cookies from samoas into Momoas. (get it?)

Because truthfully, meh, cookies are optional, but TOPLESS JASON MOMOA IS EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY NECESSARY.

Sharenting | Know Your Meme

About

Sharenting is “the habitual use of social media to share news, images, etc of one’s children” according to Collins English Dictionary. The word is a blend of over-sharing and parenting.

Origin

On May 18th, 2012, the Wall Street Journal writer Erin McKean coined the term in a “Words of the Week” article saying, “I call it “oversharenting”: the tendency for parents to share a lot of information and photos of their kids online.” Oversharenting was shortened to sharenting over time.

Spread

On May 17th, 2015, CBS New York uploaded the first video about sharenting to YouTube (shown below). They report that most people think that parents share too much about their child on social media. The reporters warn people about sharing the childs location through pictures.

On Sept. 16, 2016, USA Today reported, “An 18-year-old woman from Carinthia is suing her parents over their posting of 500 images of her without her consent, The Local Austria reports. The images were shared with her parents’ 700 Facebook friends. Her father told the news outlet he has rights to the photos because he took them.” On Jun 23rd, 2017, TheEllenShow uploaded a monologue of American Comedian Ellen Degeneres who concentrated on children suing their parents over Facebook photos (shown below, left). The video gained 247,000 views and 3,800 likes in two years. On July 20th, Good Morning Britain uploaded a heated debate on the sharenting subject to YouTube which received 163,000 views and 767 likes in two years (shown below, right).

The term became popular with parents, with some proudly calling themselves sharents (shown below).

Dolly Parton Admits That Husband Carl Thomas Dean Isn’t A Fan Of Her Music

It’s hard to believe that anyone out there isn’t a fan of Dolly Parton. Dolly’s decorated career, which has spanned practically her entire life, has been widely celebrated recently. She was honored at the 2019 Grammy Awards with a tribute that she also performed in. She was also chosen as the 2019 Person of the Year by MusiCares, the charity of The Recording Academy. A musical in her honor, 9 to 5: The Musical, is even premiering on the West End. It was while discussing the musical that Dolly mentioned ever-so-casually that her husband of over 5 decades, Carl Thomas Dean, is not actually a fan of her music.

Say what now?

According to People, Dolly revealed during a Good Morning Britain appearance that Carl has only seen her perform a handful of times. The reason? It makes him nervous to see her on stage.

“He felt like he’d get nervous if I messed up and all that. He’s not necessarily one of my biggest fans [of] my music,” Dolly explained.

Carl is apparently more of a “hard rock and Led Zeppelin and bluegrass music” fan, but that’s not the only way he differs from his wife. He’s also a very guarded, private person. He rarely makes public appearances with his larger-than-life wife.

Dolly made sure to emphasize that although her music isn’t Carl’s cup of tea, he’s still very supportive of her career.

“He doesn’t dislike it, [but] he doesn’t go out of his way to play my records, let’s put it that way,” she explained. And it certainly hasn’t stopped the couple from enjoying a blissful 53 years together!

If you, unlike Carl, are a huge Dolly fan, check out footage from her spectacular Grammys medley in the video!

“Remove the Rat” Kickstarter

On February 18th, 2019, Adam Sacks created a Kickstarter to remove the rat from the final shot of The Departed, which he claimed was heavy-handed symbolism that spoiled the film (original scene shown below). The rat has long been a subject of jokes about Scorsese’s “ham-fisted” use of symbolism. As of February 20th, the Kickstarter has reached its $4,000 goal.

The Kickstarter was mocked the following day on Twitter. Twitter user @Max_Read joked that the shot ruined the film’s “carefully cultivated subtlety” (shown below, left). User @bernstein joked that the ending was actually tonally appropriate if you think of the film as a comedy.

Fans Are Convinced Lady Gaga’s New Tattoo Is A Secret Tribute To Bradley Cooper

It’s hard to have seen Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper together in A Star is Born and not think the two are meant to be. The chemistry between the two is off the charts, and in interviews, they can’t help but gush over one another’s talents. It’s all the makings of a Hollywood romance to onlookers, but behind the scenes, it a little more complicated than that.

For one, up until very recently, both were otherwise involved. Bradley has been dating Russian model Irina Shayk since 2015. The couple has reportedly been going strong since. They welcomed a daughter, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, in March 2017.

Around that time, Lady Gaga was seen out and about with her talent agent, Christian Carino. Rumors started swirling that the couple was engaged later that year, although Gaga didn’t confirm that news until October 2018.

Following her solo appearance at the Grammys, fans questioned whether Gaga and Christian were still on. She didn’t wear her engagement ring at the award show. Her rep confirmed that the couple had split just days later. This, along with some new ink from Gaga, has inspired fans who are rooting for her to hook up with Bradley.

Parts Of Niagara Falls Have Frozen Thanks To The Extreme Cold, And The Views Are Majestic

Many areas of the Midwest and Northeast have been dealing with a deep freeze for weeks now. It seems like every time we’re briefly greeted with above-freezing temperatures, we pay for it two-fold in the following days. That cold has led to quite a marvelous display at Niagara Falls, located on the border of New York and Canada.

Spots of Niagara Falls have frozen, partially halting the flow of water the landmark is known for. Instead, everything is coated with ice. Visitors to the falls are seeing it like few before them have, and while it’s bitingly cold, the view is mesmerizing. One visitor even likened it to Disney’s Frozen.

“There was even this set of stairs that were placed just outside the look-on spot and they had so much ice on them, it looked like Elsa had just cast her arm out and summoned up some stairs like she does in the movie,” Emma Grafham told CNN.

The Niagara Falls website explains that while the surface of the falls may appear frozen, there is water flowing beneath: “The volume of water that makes up Niagara Falls combined with the constant movement of the river makes a total freeze nearly impossible.”

However, that doesn’t stop sheets of ice up to 40 feet thick from forming in certain areas, leading to the winter wonderland visitors have been seeing.

With spring approaching, it won’t be long until Niagara Falls is fully flowing again. Enjoy the majesty of a frozen waterfall while you can, and check out the majestic view in the video!
