‘Black Panther’ Got A New Opening Credits Tribute To Chadwick Boseman On Disney+

Black Panther is slowly finding new direction in the wake of Chadwick Boseman’s death earlier this year, but the first movie in the Marvel franchise got a slight tweak to pay tribute to the movie’s star. Word spread on Sunday that Disney+ had updated the opening sequence of the film with a special credits scene featuring Boseman, who died in August after a battle with cancer.

The movie shocked both Hollywood and the millions of Marvel fans who loved Boseman as T’Challa and were hoping he would anchor Black Panther 2. That movie will film next summer without him, but Disney apparently honored the late actor with a purple version of the montage that creates the Marvel logo before MCU films.

And, indeed, a trip to Disney+ shows that the credits scene after the movie’s cold open in the past includes a new purple animation showing Boseman, both as T’Challa and behind the scenes, appearing amid a montage of script images and other pieces paying tribute to the late Marvel star.

The move apparently is a posthumous birthday gift to Boseman, who would have turned 44 on Sunday. It’s a nice tribute to the late star, and may be one of the last times Boseman is edited into an MCU film. Marvel has already said it won’t use a CGI version of Boseman in its new movies, meaning the Black Panther franchise will eventually have to move on without Boseman at the lead.

He Started ‘Murder on Middle Beach’ at SCAD

From the looks of the new HBO true crime docuseries Murder on Middle Beach, viewers might never know that the four-part series started as filmmaker Madison Hamburg’s college project.

As the 29-year-old tells GQ, he began work on the documentary — which details the unsolved murder of his mother, Barbara Hamburg — in 2013 as he attended Savannah College of Art and Design and was recovering from an opiate addiction while still grieving his mother.

“I was a drug addict, and I ran from accepting a world without her,” he says. “I chose to get sober because I was going to die. I decided, if I was going to accept a world without my mom, I was going to make the absolute most of it that I could.”

Madison got a big boost from a Hollywood screenwriter.

Eventually, the production team amassed 160 hours of footage, and Madison’s professor gave him an A on the project and insisted that Madison keep working on it. At that point, Madison started looking for outside collaborators.

From his days as a New York actor, Madison’s uncle was an old friend of the Hollywood screenwriter Ron Nyswaner, who wrote the Oscar-nominated script for the 1993 film Philadelphia, directed by Jonathan Damme.

“My uncle reconnected with him through a mutual friend,” Madison tells TV Insider. “[My] 15-minute conversation with him turned into several hours.”

And Madison was about to sign a contract with another production company when he got a call from Ron, as he tells GQ: “He called me and said, ‘I’m flying you out to LA. Jonathan Demme changed my life from one phone call, and I’m going to try to do the same for you.’”

HBO saw the “potential impact” of a documentary about a murder from “the familial perspective.”

As Madison explains to TV Insider, he didn’t want the documentary to be a conventional true crime story.

“When I came back to school, it was hard to tell people what had happened to me because there is this connotation that comes with my mother being murdered,” he said.

He continued, “I was hoping through the film to change that, or take a step toward a different connotation, which is the unresolved grief and lingering distrust and navigating all that while telling the story of a murder from a human perspective and familial perspective.”

HBO, for one, recognized Madison’s vision.

“It wasn’t the easiest pitch in the world, as you might imagine,” the filmmaker adds. “We had this amazing pitch with [executive producer] Lisa Heller at HBO. Thank god she saw the potential impact of a story like this and how we wanted to tell it. They’ve been the best partner I could have asked for.”

Now, his family’s story is reaching a huge television audience.

“I think my mom, no matter what I did in my life, good or bad, would be proud of me,” Madison tells GQ. “And I think that my family is sort of channeling that when they are watching. It’s hard for me not to feel selfish and exploitative, opportunistic. Those are all my deepest fears of what this might come across as. But I don’t know. I’m OK with where we’re at now.”

Donald Trump Ranted Wildly About ‘Massive Dumps’ He Falsely Said Cost Him The Election On Fox News

Donald Trump’s bloated and beleaguered effort to somehow undo the election he lost earlier this month will likely spill into December, and it remains the focus of his attention despite a coronavirus pandemic spiraling out of control and America facing an extremely uncertain winter.

Biden winning the presidential election is one of the few things certain at this point, though that’s not the case for millions of Trump supporters who believe his baseless accusations of voter fraud that have caused him to mount and lose dozens of court cases in various states. That misinformation campaign continued on Sunday, as Trump continued to rant and rave baselessly about all the ways the election was taken away from him and he would try to somehow return the favor.

There was a lot of outright lying and misinformation from Trump, as host Marisa Bartiromo was clearly uninterested in fact checking any claims about the dozens of lawsuits from the Trump team that have been thrown out in the days following the election and several states certifying their results against his wishes.

But the biggest thing to come out of the interview was the “massive dumps” Trump couldn’t stop talking about.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

“This election was over,” Trump said. “And then they did dumps. They call them dumps. Big, massive dumps. In Michigan, in Pennsylvania, and all over.”

Trump is talking, of course, about the mail-in votes that were counted late in many states where he initially looked to be leading. Those decisions to count mail-in ballots after the in-person votes, and in some cases well after the election was over, was made by largely Republican state legislatures and indeed made it appear that Trump was ahead by large margins before millions of votes were properly counted. None of those attempts to recount or throw out those mail-in votes have worked, which is why Biden will be president in January despite the endless lawsuits and claims of fraud without any proof that votes were either cast or counted improperly on a scale wide enough to make Biden’s win invalid.

Still, Trump said he would use “125 percent” of his energy on overturning the election, making it clear that he will not get over the fact that he lost the election to Joe Biden despite his administration slowly allowing Biden to initiate a transfer of power.

There are other things he could spend the last months of his presidency doing, such as helping a battered nation through a difficult, disease-filled period of the coronavirus pandemic that will test the will of its people and the healthcare system tasked with preventing mass death in America. But at least Trump said something very funny on Fox News, even if he continues to damage the nation’s faith in elections and the systems meant to keep its citizens safe while he says it.

Are Shekeb and Emily Still Together on ‘I Love a Mama’s Boy’?

On I Love a Mama’s Boy, we see Laila feeding Shekeb spoonfuls of food — and even shaving his back.

“I live with my parents,” Shekeb explains on the show. “My dad loves the relationship I have with my mom because it kinda gives him time to do what he’s gotta do. So, in a way, he’s like, ‘You know what? You’re cutting me some slack, you know, just always being there for her.’”

Girl Horrifies Viewers by Cooking Thanksgiving Turkey in the Microwave

A TikTok video shows a young woman destroying Thanksgiving decency and norms by seemingly cooking a turkey in the microwave—and grossing out her viewers in the process.

Thanksgiving exists on a spectrum, with gradients ranging from the “right” way and the “wrong” way to do the holiday centered on food, family, football, and food (again).

In the video, which has 2.5 million views on TikTok, the user, @itsmeju1iette, first stuffs the unseasoned turkey with bread, which one assumes is the “stuffing” or “dressing.” Then, to make matters worse, she wraps it in plastic. (The chemicals from plastic would render the turkey instantly inedible for the knowledgeable.)

Lastly, she puts the turkey in the microwave for 60 minutes, which seems like an extremely arbitrary timeframe. The whole scene is pure violence and hopefully not real.

The turkey comes out half-cooked, in a bag of its own juices. She takes a bite—or at least pretends to.

The TikToker is known for her cooking monstrosities. She recently went viral for seemingly cooking steak in a toaster. Hopefully, at some point, both the steak and turkey were properly cooked.

Her account is funny, gastronomically enraging, and absolutely ridiculous. And the comments aren’t any different. Judging by this set, her cooking turkey in the microwave, supposedly for her boyfriend’s family, sent viewers over the edge. “You woke up and chose violence,” one viewer commented.

How Did Tony Hsieh Die? The Retired Zappos SEO Was in a House Fire

Retired Zappos CEO and visionary entrepreneur Tony Hsieh, 46, died on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, after sustaining grave injuries in a house fire that broke out in the early hours of Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020, in New London, Conn.

He was staying at the property owned by Rachael Brown, a woman who is thought to be one of his associates, while visiting his family. So, what happened? How did he die?

Jeff Bezos and Ivanka Trump were just some of those who paid tribute to Tony’s memory.

DTP Companies, one of the companies founded by Tony, published a statement announcing the horrible news on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020.

“Tony’s kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone around him, and forever brightened the world […] Delivering happiness was always his mantra, so instead of mourning his transition, we ask you to join us in celebrating his life,” reads the statement.

Jeff Bezos, Ivanka Trump, and Chris Sacca are just some of the big names who were close to the brilliant entrepreneur.

“Tony was a deeply original thinker always challenging me to reject conformity & follow my heart. Tony was driven by the mission of delivering happiness & brought joy to all who knew him. Rest In Peace Tony,” Ivanka wrote on Twitter.

“The world lost you way too soon @downtowntony. Your curiosity, vision, and relentless focus on customers leave an indelible mark. You will be missed by so many, Tony. Rest In Peace,” Jeff wrote on Instagram.

“Tony Hsieh might be the most original thinker I’ve ever been friends with. He questioned every assumption and shared everything he learned along the way. He genuinely delighted in making anyone and everyone happy. The earth has lost a beautifully weird and helpful person. RIP,” Chris tweeted.

Born in Illinois and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Tony founded his first company, LinkExchange, in 1996, about a year after he graduated from Harvard University. He sold the internet advertising cooperative to Microsoft Corporation in 1998, for $265 million.

Tony joined Zappos — called ShoeSite back then — in 1999. During his 21-year-long tenure at the company, he helped transform it into the e-commerce giant it’s known as today. He retired from his role as the CEO in August 2020.

The entrepreneur played a significant role in the redevelopment of downtown Las Vegas as well. It was his great ambition to turn the area into a vibrant tech and cultural hub, which led him to fund DTP Companies.
