Back when they got married, Keegan-Michael described their intimate wedding as a prom, saying, “I had a very small wedding in my apartment, but on the weekend, my wife Elisa and I had a party which was basically a prom.”

This fall will mark two years since Earthgang dropped their debut album, Mirrorland. If the Atlanta rap duo had it their way, Earthgang’s sophomore album, titled Ghetto Gods, would already be in the hands of their awaiting supporters. Unfortunately for everyone involved, a bit more patience will need to be exercised, but in the meantime, supporters of the rap duo can enjoy Earthgang’s remix of Drake and Rick Ross’ “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” which they released on Saturday.

Wowgr8 and Johnny Venus depart from their usual soulful spirits as the former dives deep into introspection while the latter reflects on the past years of his life. Venus’ verse seemingly addresses the delayed album.

“Release date is what I’m waiting on / Interscope gotta crunch the numbers,” he raps. “This industry is flooded with mindless muddles cause lies sell / The ugly truth might not bring in the money / Don’t they know it’s real sh*t the people want? / A pause from the pill-pop subscription joint.”

Back in February, the rappers revealed the project would arrive the same day as J. Cole’s next full-length effort. That turned out to be Cole’s The Off-Season which dropped on Friday. That day came and went, however, without Earthgang’s new album. As a result, they opted to share their “truth” through the new freestyle “for those asking why Ghetto Gods didn’t drop.”

When a new family, the Russells, moves in across the street, she’s convinced she’s witnessed the patriarch (Gary Oldman) murder his wife (Julianne Moore). However, none of the authorities believe her when a new woman appears, claiming to be the wife that was “murdered.”

Throughout the film’s twists and turns, Anna is convinced that there’s someone in the apartment with her, even more so when she is emailed a photo of herself sleeping. It is revealed that Anna has been on medication due to a car accident that killed her husband and child, and her instability is used against her. As Anna becomes more hopeless, she discovers a photo on her phone of her cat with the “real” Jane in the background.

Ethan Russell (Fred Hechinger), the teenage son of the family, has been lurking in the apartment. While he said prior that he was allergic to cats, it was implied that Ethan injured the cat’s paw to prevent it from following him around the apartment at night while he was stalking Anna. He also reveals that he murdered Katie, his birth mother, and the woman Anna had seen in the window.

Ethan attempts to murder Anna as well, but she escapes and pushes him through a skylight to his death. Thankfully, the cat in this film is safe, even if it did get injured. While violence against any animal is enough to pull at the viewer’s heartstrings, most of it occurs offscreen, and by the time the film reaches its end, Anna has the cat in a carrier, ready to move on to an apartment with less murderous neighbors.

Don Lemon ‘Didn’t Mean To Set The Internet On Fire’ But He’s Not Leaving CNN

Don Lemon signed off of his CNN show on Friday night with an announcement that made many think he was going off the air for good. The CNN Tonight With Don Lemon host apologized for setting “the internet on fire” after an abrupt signoff on Friday night that sounded to some like he was leaving the cable news network for good.

Friday’s broadcast included the note that the edition of his 10 p.m. show would be the final CNN Tonight.

“It’s been really, really great,” Lemon said. “This is the last night that will be CNN Tonight with Don Lemon.”

Many interpreted that comment that his show, and potentially Lemon’s time at CNN, was at an end. And as speculation ran wild on social media, Lemon went to Twitter with an impromptu video intended to put people at ease.

“Everybody calm down, I didn’t say I was leaving CNN. I just said it was the end of an era for CNN Tonight with Don Lemon,” Lemon said. “I’m not leaving CNN.”

Lemon apologized for getting everyone riled up, but later explained that the show is just getting a rebrand. Starting Monday, he will host a newly name show for the first time since he started with the network in 2014. Lemon posted on Saturday about the change, complete with a new graphic for the show’s new name.

“Didn’t mean to set the internet on fire,” he wrote Saturday. “What I said last night was true. ‘CNN Tonight with Don Lemon’ is no more. I’ll be back on Monday with my newly named show Don Lemon Tonight.”

Janey and Pat Harris, Scott’s defense attorney, sat down for interviews with 20/20 for the episode “One Last Chance: The Trial of Scott Peterson,” which aired on ABC on Friday, May 14.

“They discuss Scott’s side of the story, evidence which they claim proves his innocence, and their hope to show the evidence to a jury if Scott’s verdict is overturned and he receives a new trial.” ABC touted in a press release, adding that the episode features new audio from Scott’s life inside prison.

“The program dives into the details of the case, including Laci and Scott’s seemingly perfect relationship, the desperate search by family and friends to find Laci, Scott’s secret relationship with another woman, and Scott’s trial and conviction for the murder of Laci and their unborn child,” ABC added.

Nicki Minaj went more than a year without dropping new music before she made her grand return on Friday. The Pink Friday rapper should absolutely be given grace for her time off, as it included the birth of her first child and the tragic death of her father. Nonetheless, Minaj stepped back into the music world by adding her beloved mixtape, Beam Me Up Scotty, to streaming services with three new songs which included “Fractions” and “Seeing Green” with Lil Wayne and Drake.

Shortly after the release, however, Minaj was forced to hop on Instagram Live and address rumors that were floating around her. The rumors insinuated that Minaj was using drugs, specifically cocaine. During the livestream, she made it very clear that she has never used cocaine in her life.

“I don’t know if it’s just me, but I wouldn’t be embarrassed about any f*ckin drugs I did, that’s why I talk about the motherf*ckin drugs I do in my motherf*ckin music,” she said. “Always have, always f*ckin will. If I’m off em, I’m off em [child], but I want to make this clear so open everybody’s ears, clear your ears out. I have never, ever in my life with my hands on Jesus Christ, and y’all know how I feel about my Lord and savior. Never in my life, ever, not even once sniffed coke. ever.”

Minaj then explained why she felt it was necessary to address the rumors.

“I have a lot of friends, or acquaintances in the industry who do coke,” she added. “I don’t judge them for it but I’ve never tried it, never wanted to, never asked them to. Especially in the fashion world, that’s so common and normal, but yes.

“That’s the thing, when people used to lie about me I never used to clear my name and there was someone who took a major step and told that lie to people,” she continued. “And I never addressed it because I thought it was too ridiculous at the time to address but something just told me to now.”

Deputies Repeatedly Tased Black Man Before He Died, Video Shows

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday released video footage showing the lead-up to the death of Jamal Sutherland. 

Sutherland, 31, was arrested on Jan. 4, according to NBC News, after a fight broke out at a psychiatric facility where he was receiving treatment. He was then brought from the facility to jail. 

But an altercation reportedly broke out the next morning as deputies attempted to take Sutherland to his bond hearing.

In the video, two sheriff’s deputies are outside Sutherland’s cell as one deploys a taser, using it repeatedly, as Sutherland cries out in pain. Police records reportedly claim Sutherland was tasered at least six times. 

Soon after deputies handcuffed a limp Sutherland, he began thrashing his legs before falling limp and going motionless. He was pronounced dead after attempts by medical staff to resuscitate him, CNN reports. 

The two deputies involved in Sutherland’s death were initially suspended for 30 days, but are now on desk duty, CNN reports. In a statement posted to Twitter, Charleston County Sheriff Kristin Graziano called Sutherland’s death a “horrible tragedy.”

“Our officers removed Mr. Sutherland from his cell that morning in order to ensure that he received a timely bond hearing, as required by law,” Graziano said. “Their efforts were complicated by the increasing effects that Mr. Sutherland was suffering as a result of mental illness.”

“Since this tragedy occurred, we have assessed our resources and are evaluating options for global improvement, including a focus on mental health awareness,” Graziano added.

Based on the novel of the same name by Michael Kortya, Those Who Wish Me Dead is a neo-western thriller with fires, mob bosses, and explosions. The twisty film follows Hannah Faber (Angelina Jolie) as a smokejumper (wildlife firefighter) mourning the fires she couldn’t prevent. She and her ex-boyfriend Ethan Sawyer (Jon Bernthal) become embroiled in a deadly plot and risk everything to save others. 

The scorching action film left audiences curious about the ending of the movie, and what the “secret” of the film was. Read on to find out everything we know about the ending of Those Who Wish Me Dead, explained. 

The ending of ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ didn’t exactly reveal the secret of the film.

When Owen Casserly (Jake Weber) notices that the District Attorney he worked for died “in a gas leak,” the events of the film kick into motion. Audiences see mob assassins Jack Blackwell (Aiden Gillen) and Patrick Blackwell (Nicholas Hoult) heavily imply that the death of the District Attorney was no accident. Meanwhile, Owen explains to his son Connor (Finn Little) why the mob would wish him dead before they take off. 

“I’m a forensic accountant. Which means I look for things that don’t add up. And I found some. The man I worked for, he was killed today because of what I found. But I still know it, which means they’re gonna come after me too,” Owen says. He also explains that they cannot go to the police because the knowledge he possesses could implicate congressmen and other powerful people too.

Eventually, the mobsters catch up to the father-son duo, trailing them through their relatives, the Deputy Sheriff, and his wife. Owen hands his son a slip of paper with information regarding the Blackwells’ boss, Arthur Phillip (Tyler Perry) before he dies. Hannah and Connor can escape the assassins through the woods, and some of Hannah’s smokejumper pals come to her aid. Connor, Hannah, and Allison, the Deputy’s wife, survive a massive fire.

The film ends with Connor attempting to reveal the information his father wrote on the slip of paper to the press. The slip of paper is implied to have the “secret” location of duplicate evidence that could implicate congressmen and other government professionals in mob activity. Audiences will remember that mob boss Arthur speculated as much, thus the reason for all the effort of hunting Owen and Connor down. However, the slip of paper’s contents are never revealed to viewers.

To some, keeping the audience from knowing the secret on the piece of paper is a handy plot device because the piece of paper provides motivation to all the characters and keeps viewers guessing the whole film. To others, it’s frustrating we’ll never know what happens with the piece of paper or Connor. Perhaps this leaves room open for a sequel? Fans will have to wait and see.

Conway The Machine, JID, And Ludacris Share An Eerie Performance Of ‘Scatter Brain’ On ‘The Tonight Show’

After years of releasing mixtapes, Conway The Machine shared his official debut last fall with From King To A God. Just like the rest of the Griselda members, Conway wasted no time getting back to work as he returned with another project, La Maquina, in April. The eleven-track effort was highlight by features from Ludacris, JID, 2 Chainz, El Camino along with fellow Griselda acts Benny The Butcher and Westside Gunn. Just a little over a month removed from sharing La Maquina, Conway took his talents to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform one of the album’s tracks.

Sliding through with Ludacris and JID by his side, Conway took the late-night TV stage to perform “Scatter Brain.” The track is a favorite from La Maquina and the performance itself made for the rapper’s national television debut. The trio delivered their slick-lipped rhymes while pacing around an eerie stage that contained disconnected televisions, barbed wire, and floor-grazing smoke.

During a recent interview on Apple Music, Conway shared when fans could expect his next project.

“That should be coming out this summer. Like, June or July, and I’m excited,” he said. “We had to go through the channels I had to go through a lot of the stuff that had sample issues, and we couldn’t get some stuff cleared. So, songs didn’t make it, that got put out early on other projects. We had to make other songs and stuff to make up for it. It was a process but it’s finally complete.”
