Move Over, Theme Parks And Beaches: Now More Families Are Looking For Work-From-Home Getaways

It’s hard to believe that people have been trying hard to stay indoors since March. Even though our world is slowly opening up, the pandemic is still quite real — and people are still getting sick. That means that plenty of us are still depending on contactless delivery and working from home.

Being home is still one of the safest ways to avoid getting the virus. But since that can often be repetitive, many people are booking vacations where they work somewhere a little more fun. Airbnb is starting to offer listings that talk less about the shopping centers the location is close to, and more about the high-speed internet. Work-from-anywhere getaways may be the best way to feel refreshed.

Michelle Shainess is one of the many parents who’s decided to take a road trip with her family while also working remotely. She sought out listings that were great for both work and learning, so that her kids could get something out of the trip. Being outside and exploring the open road can often be quite educational.

In general, it’s a great idea for people who still haven’t taken their big summer vacation. Even though summer is over for 2020, the summer spirit is still very much alive. And if both you and your kids are both checking in with work and school online, might as well “work” from a place that has a pool. Or at least, a scenic view.
