Mattel Introduces Barbie ‘2019 Career Of The Year’ Doll And She’s In Charge Of The Courtroom

Mattel has surprised the world with the announcement of its newest edition to the family, the Barbie Judge Doll. The toymaker is calling it it’s 2019 Career of the Year doll.

“With over 200 careers since 1959, this year Barbie takes the stand as a judge!” a representative for the company said. “The Barbie Judge Doll encourages girls to learn more about making decisions to change the world for the better,” a representative said. After learning of the small percentage rate of women sitting as U.S. state judges, only 33%, the company decided to honor the profession, said senior vice president and global brand general manager of Barbie Lisa McKnight

The new doll in charge comes in a variety of different skin tones and hairstyles. The toy will be available at Wal-Mart, Target, and Amazon at a retail price of just $12.99.

With a gavel in her hand, this doll is ready to take the bench. She’ll make a great gift for young girls around the world and it comes just in time for the holiday. Mattel also released a gender-neutral doll line known as the“Creatable World line. The line allows children to personally customize their doll without gender being the focus.
