Many sects appeared throughout Islamic history, particularly during the Abbasid Caliphate, and caused major harm to the Islamic World.

One of them was the Qarmatians, who destroyed entire villages, and killed Muslim women, children, and elders.

By the mid-10th century, persecution forced the Qarmatians to leave Egypt and Iraq, and move toward Sindh in Pakistan. They established a strong government in Sindh, and Multan was their province where any kind of sin was permitted.

In 1005, the great Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi led a war against Multan’s Qarmatian ruler Abdul Fateh Daud. Mahmud Ghaznavi killed so many Qarmatians that his fingers eventually became stuck to his sword.

The city was surrendered, and Fateh Daud was permitted to retain control over the city with the condition that he adhere to Sunnism.

Here is my detail video on the history of Qarmatians 👇
