The Kardashians are baaaaack. I mean, they never really go anywhere, but the family is gearing up for the 18th season of their reality hit Keeping Up With The Kardashians and are dropping promos left and right.
In a recent clip, viewers find out that Kim Kardashian surprised her sister Khloé by inviting Khloé’s ex, Tristan Thompson, to dinner. Kim and Tristan have a notoriously tempestuous relationship, the flames of which have been stoked by the multiple times Tristan cheated on Khloé while they two were a couple. However, Tristan is the father of Khloé’s daughter, Tru, and will always be part of the family’s life.
Kim explains that it all started when she got a call. “I was leaving the Mercer Hotel and then I get a call on my cellphone from Tristan. He was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m right next door!’ He was like ‘Oh I’m there, what are you doing?’ And I was like, ‘I’m going to go have dinner with my friend.’ So I was like, ‘Do you want to come?’”
In the clip, Khloé is clearly shocked, and even a little upset. But she says, “You invited him to dinner? I think you gotta do what’s best for you. If you want him to have a drink at the end, there’s nothing wrong with that. That’s beyond generous of you.”
Even though she’s extending the olive branch, kind of, Kim says, “I don’t think what Tristan did was obviously right. I brutalized him. But I also know that that’s True’s dad. Mom cheated on Dad, and all of their friends forgave mom.”
