Kate Middleton is dedicated to improving the lives of children. Her charitable work since joining the royal family has largely focused on kids and giving them the best foundation possible in the earliest days of their lives. She’s done a tremendous amount of work to this end already. She even incorporated the idea into her display garden for the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show. The garden Kate created (with the help of landscape architects Andrée Davies and Adam White) had a “Back To Nature” theme.

The garden contained a lot of little details that would help keep families active while enjoying the outdoors. Rope swings and hollow logs encouraged young children to get on the move.  Kate even tested it out with her own little ones, bringing George, Charlotte, and Louis to check out the garden before it was unveiled!

Kate and William seemed to have a blast with their kids. The family truly seemed at ease in the outdoors. The next day, the duchess enjoyed the garden with local school children. They built reed boats and roasted marshmallows over a fire.

Kate also got a chance to show off her hard work to other adults in the royal family. William joined her as she gave Queen Elizabeth a tour of the garden.

On top of all that, the garden also featured a very important and personal nod to a member of the royal family that’s no longer with us. Kate paid tribute to the late Princess Diana with her incorporation of forget-me-nots in her garden. They were known to be Diana’s favorite flower. Kate’s sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, similarly honored Diana on Mother’s Day.

So sweet!
