Karacahisar Castle has been conquered twice in history. First by Ertugrul Ghazi in the reign of Seljuk Sultan Kayqubad I and then by Osman Ghazi in 1286 CE.
Osman Bey fought a battle against the Byzantine army in which his brother Savcı Bey was martyred and the Byzantine commander Kalanoz was killed. The Battle ended with an Ottoman victory.
