Joe Jonas is opening up about his skincare routine, which includes using cosmetic injectables.
The Jonas Brothers musician recently revealed that he’s been trying out injectables to smooth out some fine lines on his face — and is actually really liking the results.
“We’re all getting older, and part of that is being comfortable [in our skin],” Joe recently said in an interview with People.
As a new user of cosmetic injectables, Joe shared that what he’s done has been “light” and “wasn’t over the top.”
Joe explained that he knows there can be a taboo around men discussing beauty and grooming routines and habits, but he wants men to feel comfortable taking care of their skin.
“I don’t think it’s necessarily something that we have to shy away from,” he explained, adding, “We can be open and honest about it and be confident and not really shy away from speaking our truth.”
And while he’s comfortable talking about skincare nowadays, he says it took time and encouragement from friends and family to be who he wants to be.
“There were all these talks at one point, like, ‘Oh, men can’t do this or it’s weird for guys to do that,’ and I think there’s a stigma that’s fading, and I like that,” Joe shared.
He continued, “Guys are more openly wearing makeup, and it’s great to see. It’s like, do whatever you want, you know? It’s a beautiful generation that we’re living in.”
Joe added that he feels that at “some point you make that decision for yourself” to do “the things that you want to do” and wear “the things that you want to wear.”
“You get to an age where you just go, ‘Okay, I don’t feel those pressures anymore.’ I think if you had asked me 10 years ago, I would have definitely felt that pressure more,” Joe concluded.
