In Kūfa, ‘Irāq, a lamb was stolen. A man received the news of this theft and decided to investigate the lifespan of a sheep. He discovered that its lifespan was around 7 years.

For the next 7 years, he abstained from consuming meat from a sheep, fearing that the meat from the stolen lamb would end up in his stomach.

This man was none other than Sayyidunā Imām Abū Ḥanīfa, may Allāh have mercy on him.
