Gwen Stefani is returning to The Voice to replace Adam Levine!
After 16 seasons as a coach on The Voice, Adam announced his departure from the NBC reality show in May. Needless to say, his fellow coaches and fans are heartbroken. Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson both admitted how much they’ll miss seeing him on set.
“It was kind of a shocking thing,” fellow coach Kelly Clarkson said. “But I kind of get it. He’s been doing it for eight years—that’s a long time. He’s got a couple kids. Still has a career. Still touring.”
Gwen Stefani, who previously coached on seasons 7, 9, and 12, is stepping up as Adam’s replacement. She’ll work alongside Blake, Kelly, and John Legend.
Gwen stayed silent about the switch-up for almost two weeks after all of this was first announced. But in a recent interview on The Talk, she opened up about how it feels to replace Adam, calling it “bittersweet.”
