Grammy-Nominated Singer Mike Posner Struggles To Walk Again After Venomous Snake Bite

31-year-old Grammy-nominated musician Mike Posner recently set out to achieve his personal dream of walking across the United States and releasing a brand new song as he entered each state.

He knew it wouldn’t be easy and that the adventure would be dangerous and even life-threatening at times.

Mike was inspired to set off on his journey after losing his father in 2017 and his friend Avicci, an electronic musician, the following year.

But just as Mike reached mile 1,800 of 2,833 in Colorado, his plans were halted when he was bitten by a baby rattlesnake. If left untreated, these bites can cause tissue damage, circulatory issues and internal hemorrhage.

Thankfully, Mike was airlifted the hospital and was able to receive anti-venom in time. He has been in the ICU ever since. The singer, songwriter and producer, whose hit songs include “Cooler Than Me” and “I Took a Pill in Ibiza,” says he went from walking 24 miles each day to now having to relearn how to walk with the help of his team of doctors and physical therapists.

In the clip below, Mike shares a few personal messages to his fans and followers in the wake of his medical scare.

Even though his mission to walk across America has been put on pause, it hasn’t stopped him from continuing to inspire people from his hospital bed.
