Succession is no stranger to Emmy wins and nominations. The hit HBO Max series chronicling the ruthless Roy family — as they all vie for control of the mega media conglomerate founded by their father — has snagged 48 nominations and 13 wins since it first premiered in 2018.
Following Kieran Culkin’s performance from someone emotionally detached to a child struggling with sorrow in Season 4, Episode 9 titled “Church and State,” viewers agree that Culkin will be the next one to secure the coveted prize. Kieran Culkin is giving such a strong performance in season four of Succession that IndieWire predicts he will join co-stars Jeremy Strong and Brian Cox in the 2023 Emmy Race for Best Actor in a Drama Series. Yet, according to fans of the former child star, he has already secured the statuette. That funeral moment — when he finally breaks down, as his facade of impermeability crumbles (after prepping and prepping — with notecards at the ready) will be impossible to top. The Emmys aren’t until September, so until then, fingers crossed for Kieran.
