Cop Takes Teen To Job Interview Minutes After Pulling Him Over: ‘Something Came Upon Me’

Officer Roger Gemoules is a school resource officer from Cahokia, Illinois. Recently, he was on patrol when he spotted a car up ahead with a busted-out window and expired license plates.

Officer Gemoules pulled the vehicle over. The driver was a teenage boy named Kshawn Ballwin.

The second Kshawn saw the blue and red lights flashing behind him, the negative thoughts poured into his head. Naturally.

Kshawn assumed the worst — that his car was about to be towed, that he’d be taken to jail for not having a proper license, and that he would be slammed with fines he simply couldn’t afford to pay.

He admitted to Officer Gemoules that he shouldn’t have been driving the car — but he was trying to get to his job interview at FedEx and desperately needed the opportunity. The last thing he needed was to miss the interview and the clock was ticking.

That’s when Officer Gemoules made an unexpected decision. “Something came upon me,” he told reporters.

Whatever it was, he said a voice told him to do things a little differently that day. Now his and Kshawn’s story of compassion is going viral.
