Boy Whose Abusive Birth Parents Cost Him His Legs Raises $500K For Hospital That Saved His Life

At just five weeks old, Tony Hudgell became the victim of abuse at the hands of his birth parents. This innocent baby was beaten, bruised, and so badly neglected that he suffered organ failure and sepsis.

By the time he was admitted to the hospital, he was clinging to life.

Paula Hudgell, who adopted Tony when he was still a baby, told Sky News about meeting him for the very first time: “I met this tiny baby who was asleep and the nurse started flicking through his history, showing me the pictures — she said he would need life-long care. At five weeks old, he had had all his limbs broken, dislocations of his ankle, his toes, his thumbs, multiple fractures — and he had been left without medical attention for up to 10 days — and by that time, his poor little body had just given up.”

In 2017, Tony had both of his legs amputated due to his severe injuries… but his medical team saved his life.

Thankfully, the love of Paula and her husband Mark also helped Tony survive and flourish. Now five years old, the double amputee uses prosthetics and crutches to live a happy, loving life the little boy so deserves.

Tony decided he wanted to raise money for his heroes at Evelina London Children’s Hospital, the place that brought him back from the brink of death.

Just wait until you see what this amazing and inspiring little boy has accomplished in such a short amount of time.
