Amidst the chaos, a disturbing and now-viral video has emerged showing a white police officer being violent with a young woman.
Dounya Zayer was wearing a face mask while protesting when she began addressing the officer in question. She asked him why they were physically pushing protesters.
The officer told Douyna to get out of the street — then was filmed pushing her with two hands and throwing her down onto the concrete.
“We were all in a crowd peacefully protesting in front of a crowd of police officers, and someone from our side threw a bottle or something and it caused all the officers to start stampeding towards us,” she says.
Protesters shouted at the officer as he walked away, shocked by how he seemed to completely ignore the young woman he had just badly injured.
Meanwhile, Douyna ended up suffering a seizure and concussion and was rushed to the ER.
Now, Dounya is out of the hospital and speaking publicly about the disturbing incident that has now been seen by millions — and she knows exactly what she wants to see happen.
