This Woman Invited Her Ex-Boyfriend To Her Wedding And His Song Request Is Amazing

I always found it kind of weird when people maintained active, platonic relationships with their exes, especially when they were dating someone else.

That doesn’t mean I’ve never done it or at least tried to do it, but at the end of the day it always seems like one person is ultimately going to end up getting hurt because someone almost always still has feelings for the other person when things fall apart. I’ve been on both sides of that phenomenon, and it wasn’t pretty.

That being said, I’m not saying it can’t happen and that there aren’t people who are able to work out a normal, functioning relationship even after they had been previously romantically involved. But that doesn’t mean that a former couple’s “past history” isn’t still in the air. Just ask Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend.

She was at the Royal Wedding and saw her former main squeeze get betrothed to Meghan Markle in a storybook affair. Her face said it all.

The surefire way to make sure everything does not “look OK” is to overplay that everything is OK. So, in order to dispel any awkwardness, a good strategy could be to tackle it head on with some humor, right? After that initial discomfort of addressing the elephant in the room everyone can just relax.

Which might have the been the thought process behind Hayley Stamper’s ex-boyfriend’s RSVP to her wedding. The cute card also doubled as a song request form, and it’s on that short little line that her former boo dropped quite possibly the best/worst song request an ex-boyfriend could ever make.

Stamper preempted people’s responses to her hilarious and potentially awkward tweet.

She maintains that her and her ex had an amicable breakup and have managed to stay friends even after they were donezo as an item.

But that didn’t stop people from criticizing her decision nonetheless.

Others found the whole thing super hilarious.

Sometimes, wedding invitations are funny not because of an amazing response from an ex-lover, but because a couple just loves comedy.

Receiving a physical education in the mail in this day and age is kind of pointless, is it not?

But when you receive something light-hearted and funny in the mail, that could really brighten up your day.

Some people treat their weddings as these stuffy, garish, and overly serious affairs.

And the truth is, it doesn’t have to be that way.

It never hurts to get a little creative with some traditional formalities.

Because at the end of the day it is your wedding.

Just make it clear that the “joke” RSVPs you’re sending out are understood to be jokes.

I’m pretty sure the above invitation is a total joke…at least I hope it is.
