This Is What Dolly Parton Had To Say About Her Goddaughter Miley Cyrus’ Tribute At The Grammys

Dolly Parton shared a special moment with her goddaughter Miley Cyrus at the  2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday.

Dolly received the MusiCares Person of the Year Award this year, so she was the guest of honor all weekend long. Several artists performed a special Grammys tribute to the country legend, including Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris, and more.

Then it was Miley Cyrus’s turn to duet with her beloved godmother on-stage. The two have been incredibly close since Miley’s childhood.

“Miley is dear to me,” Dolly told Entertainment Tonight. “I think Miley’s one of the most talented people I know. She’s a great host. Her comedic timing is absolutely great. Great actress, she sings and writes great. I just love her to pieces. I’m glad she’s mine.”

Miley and Dolly performed a duet of “Jolene” together, then shared a touching embrace.

Dolly also enjoyed a longer tribute performance at the MusiCares gala on Friday night.

“It was exciting, singing with all those young girls and all those wonderful artists,” Dolly said. “I’m just excited to be here. It’s been a wonderful weekend with the MusiCares honor, so it’s been a nice time for me.”

Sunday night marked the first time that Dolly has taken the Grammys stage in 18 years. The singer has eight Grammys and 47 nominations under her belt.
