San Diego Mom Speaks Out About Controversial Video Of Alleged Kidnapping Attempt In Costco Lot

Jennifer Lawson and her fiancé took their two kids to Costco on a Saturday afternoon. They were sitting in their SUV in the parking lot with their 2-year-old and 10-month-old baby in the back.

Just as they went to pull out of the parking spot and head home, Jennifer says a man approached their vehicle — and his behavior instantly kicked her maternal instincts into high gear.

The San Diego mom described what happened next in an interview with FOX5: “He looks in my window, and I see him look in and open the door. As soon as he touched the handle, I jumped out and pushed him a few times.”

Jennifer said she’d never been so scared in her life.

“I don’t know what he was going to do and I wasn’t going to sit in the car and see what he was going to do and neither was my fiancé. So that’s what we had to do as parents. We had to do everything to protect our kid.”

While the couple got out of their car to confront the stranger, a crowd began to gather around them. An off-duty sheriff’s employee tried to separate them until local deputies arrived.

Things got physical and Jennifer maintains she was simply trying to protect her family. However, she has also been on the receiving end of some criticism from those who think it’s possible the man had simply made a mistake.
