Janet Udomratsak, a hardworking teacher from California, found herself pregnant and on bed rest in the thick of the pandemic.
The 35-year-old mom had been planning on virtually teaching her third-graders just like many other educators are having to do this year.
But when her second pregnancy took a complicated turn, Janet was admitted to the hospital. She’s now 32 weeks pregnant — but she refused to take her medical leave in order to give her students the best possible chance at success.
“The beginning of the year, that’s your one shot,” she told KTLA. “You set your norms, you get to meet your students, you get to meet the parents.”
Janet’s husband couldn’t believe it when she turned her hospital room into a classroom.
She did such a good job with her setup that her students had no clue she was even teaching them from the confines of her hospital bed!
