Porch Pirate Steals Sick Boy’s $40K Medicine Off Doorstep, Now He’s Begging For Guy To Return It

Porch pirates have become all too common these days. We mostly hear stories of strangers swiping Amazon boxes filled with birthday gifts for loved ones or innocuous items like batteries or dog food.

The porch pirate you’re about to meet, however, stole something so valuable it could be a matter of life-and-death for one 14-year-old boy.

Gage Haynes of in Summerlin, Nevada was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Systemic Mastocytosis at six months old. He has spent the majority of his life in and out of the hospital, struggling to find treatments that help him feel better.

Recently, Gage and his mom, Shakala, found exactly what they’d been praying for: Ryedapt, which is Gage’s new chemotherapy medicine.

Gage takes eight Ryedapt pills every day and credits the medicine with easing his symptoms enough to attend school and focus more on his grades.

Shakala worked tirelessly to obtain this prescription. “I did financial assistance because it costs $40,000 a month because it’s not FDA approved for anyone under 18,” she told media outlets.

In February 2019, an unnamed man was caught on the family’s Ring doorbell cam stealing two packages right off their porch in broad daylight. Of all things to possibly take, these boxes contained Gage’s crucial and costly chemotherapy medicine.

Now, Gage has shared a public plea for this man to return what is rightfully his.
