Families can be complicated. Sometimes you don’t know the priorities of the ones you love until you find yourself in a situation where you’re disagreeing with them. One family found themselves in such a situation over the issue of children.
One man took to Reddit to share his family’s predicament. He explains that his brother and sister-in-law have been married for six years. Last year, they adopted a little girl. Since then, they decided they wouldn’t add to their family with biological children.
Sharing that information with the extended family didn’t go quite so well. OP shared that his parents were livid about the decision. They cited their son’s responsibility to carry on the family name. They froze him and his wife out. Worse, they took their displeasure with the decision out on their adopted granddaughter.
That’s when the man had enough. He told his parents that he agreed with his brother and sister-in-law. He believed they had a right to build their family however they choose.
