Miley Cyrus Will Perform A Tribute To Her Godmother Dolly Parton At The 2019 Grammy Awards

This year, Dolly Parton will receive a special honor at the Grammy Awards: the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year Award.

If there’s anyone who deserves this award, it’s Dolly, who has won eight Grammys throughout her legendary career. The country singer has been on a serious roll for the past year. She recorded several new tracks for Netflix’s Dumplin’, and one of them, “Girl in the Movies,” earned four Grammy nominations.

Dolly will reportedly perform some old classics and some new music at this year’s ceremony. It will be her first Grammy performance since 2001!

To make the night even more special, Dolly will be honored in a tribute by several artists, including Katy Perry, Shawn Mendes, Kacey Musgraves, and most importantly, her goddaughter Miley Cyrus.

Dolly has been in Miley’s life since day one, and the two have remained incredibly close throughout the years. Dolly appeared on two episodes of Hannah Montana back in the day, and the pair has also performed multiple duets of Dolly’s classic song, “Jolene.”

Miley is clearly excited for the big day. She and Shawn posed for an Instagram photo wearing Dolly-themed leather jackets. The caption, of course, was a Dolly quote: “This could be the year for the real thing.”

You can catch Miley and Dolly’s performance at the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 10.
