Despite the fact that wearing protective masks on airplanes is currently not mandated by law, more airlines are now beginning to create their own stricter rules for crew members and passengers.
American Airlines has announced it would be tightening up its requirements by enforcing mask-wearing policies for the protection of everyone traveling on planes.
Brandon Straka, a conservative media personality, recently boarded a flight from New York to Dallas.
Just before the flight took off, he says one of the flight attendants approached him and told him he needed to be wearing a mask on the plane.
Straka told the flight attendant he didn’t have a mask, he didn’t want to wear one, and that it wasn’t actually a law to have to wear one.
Another passenger began filming as Straka argued with the staff member. He was eventually removed from the plane altogether.
This is the first known incident involving someone getting kicked off a flight for refusing to wear a mask, and the first case of someone being temporarily banned by an airline.
