Loosen Your Belt Buckle, Because McDonald’s Is Bringing Cheesy Bacon Fries To The US In 2019

Ba-da-ba-ba-ba, I’m really lovin’ this.

McDonald’s recently announced that it will be serving cheesy bacon fries in the United States starting next year. That’s right: In 2019, the year that hopefully isn’t a trash fire like 2018 was, McDonald’s employees will be asking, “Do you want cheesy bacon fries with that?” We really are living in the future, folks. This is what George Orwell was envisioning when he wrote 1984.

A McDonald’s rep told Business Insider: “I’m afraid I’ll have to provide a cheesy no comment. At this moment, our kitchens are bacon-ing something together. But we’re not yet ready to share the gouda news.”

I can’t believe someone actually wrote that in an email, but OK!

The fast-food chain has served cheesy fries in other countries for years. It tested out the cheesy bacon fries in select locations in Hawaii and Northern California earlier this year, though, and customers who were lucky enough to get their hands on the decadent side posted photos to Instagram. Honestly, they look decent.

One Instagram user even compared them to In-N-Out Burger’s animal-style fries. If you’re not familiar with those, they’re basically fries topped with mounds of cheese, onions, and Thousand Island dressing. They actually sound pretty gross now that I’ve typed out the ingredients, but trust me, they’re delicious.

Keep your eyes peeled at your local Mickey D’s for its cheesy bacon fries in 2019.
