Kourtney Kardashian has been hanging out with a new friend lately, but a lot of her fans have insinuated — or outright said — that there’s something a little confusing about the pair’s “friendship.” For starters, Kourtney is 41, and her friend, TikTok star Addison Rae, is only 19. From the jump, that’s a pretty giant age difference for any kind of relationship — friendly or otherwise.
Kourtney and Addison have been hanging out since at least March, when Kourtney’s son Mason showed up in one of Addison’s TikTok videos. Since then, the pair have posted quite a few photos to social media that have people speculating about the nature of their relationship.
On one hand, the scrutiny is profoundly unfair — Kourtney can live her life how she wants — but on the other hand, the entire Kardashian family has lived their lives in a way that puts all of their information out for public consumption and interpretation, for better or worse.
Kourtney has been flooded with comments questioning why she wants to spend this much time with someone 22 years younger than she is. One person wrote, “You are literally her mom what is this relationship” and another pointed out that at 19, Addison is closer in age to Kourtney’s oldest son, Mason, than she is to Kourtney.
Recently, Kourtney responded to one of the commenters, who said she was “weirded out” that Kourtney is “41 and she’s hanging around with 19-year-olds in swimming pools.”
Ever a fan of snappy comebacks, Kourtney simply wrote, “Do you suggest a better place? I’m looking for ideas…”
