Kite Festival Takes Terrifying Turn When 3-Year-Old Gets Carried Away By Gust Of Wind

An international kite festival was recently held in Hsinchu, Taiwan. It was supposed to be the perfect event for a sunny, windy afternoon.

In the clip below, a group of festival-goers readied a big orange kite, with a very long tail, to take flight. The wind was particularly strong that day, with gusts that ranged from 32 to 38 miles per hour.

When they let go of the kite, they didn’t know that things were about to take a terrifying turn.

Suddenly, a 3-year-old girl somehow got caught in the tail of the giant kite — and a strong gust of wind sent her flying straight up into the air, thrashing her about uncontrollably while dangling from the kite’s tail.

The now-viral video recorded the screams of those who frantically tried to pull her down. For a few frightening moments, they felt powerless over the wind.

The toddler was in the air for about 30 seconds before she got low enough to the ground to be rescued.

Thankfully, she only suffered minor injuries to her face and neck. See the scary moment below.
