Kim Kardashian is on the cover of Vogue‘s May issue, and the bulk of her interview is about her future as… A LAWYER. Okay, did anyone see this coming?!
Kim told Vogue that she’s been secretly apprenticing at a law firm in San Francisco since last year. She plans to take the bar exam to become a lawyer in 2022. In California, apprenticeships are a legal way to become a lawyer; going to law school is not necessary.
If this seems exceedingly random, let’s recall that Kim’s father, Robert Kardashian, was a legendary defense attorney. Also, last year, Kim became involved in freeing Alice Marie Johnson from prison, which inspired her to get her lawyer skills up.
“I just felt like the system could be so different, and I wanted to fight to fix it, and if I knew more, I could do more,” she explained.
And how are her studies going so far? So far, criminal law is the easiest subject for her.
“I can do it in my sleep,” she said. “Took my first test, I got a 100.”
