Congratulations are in order for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. The 34-year-old pop star and 42-year-old actor got engaged on Valentine’s Day.
Their relationship dates back to January 2016, when Katy and Orlando were spotted flirting at a Golden Globes after-party.
A month later, the pair confirmed that they were dating, and they’d already reached some pretty big milestones. They had both met each other’s friends, and Orlando introduced Katy to his 8-year-old son, Flynn, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
During the rest of 2016, Katy and Orlando continued to build their relationship. They met each other’s parents and even spent the holidays together.
In February 2017, however, the two split up. Their reps confirmed their breakup, telling People, “We can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.” After their split, Katy and Orlando stayed in touch. They remained friends and continued to talk regularly.
About a year later, in January 2018, Katy and Orlando went on vacation together, and people started speculating that they were back together. Indeed, insiders confirmed that the two were dating again, but they wanted to take things slowly. Later in the year, their relationship got more serious.
Now, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are officially engaged! The husband-and-wife-to-be shared their big news on Instagram, and Katy showed off her unique (and enormous!) engagement ring. The two seem happier than ever, and they’re excited to continue their lives together.
