George Floyd’s Son Speaks Publicly For The First Time While Standing At Scene Of His Death

Cup Foods is a corner store located on Chicago Avenue and 38th Street in Minneapolis.

It’s also the place where George Floyd died after Derek Chauvin handcuffed him facedown outside the store and pressed his knee to Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes.

Outside of the corner store, peaceful protesters have been gathering and the public has been paying their respects with flowers, photos, and messages of love.

For the first time, George’s 27-year-old son is speaking publicly — and he did so at the very scene where his father ultimately lost his life.

The Floyd family is currently being represented by Ben Crump, a well-respected Civil Rights Attorney. “I introduce the world to Quincy Mason, George Floyd’s son,” Crump announced to the press.

According to USA Today, “Quincy was trembling when he first saw the spot on Chicago Avenue where his father, George, died May 25 while handcuffed and in police custody.”

And with that, Quincy gently and powerfully addressed the crowd, and he took a knee to pray in honor his father’s life.

Watch the video below to hear from Quincy during his first public appearance.
