Family Sells Dream Home After ‘The Watcher’ Terrorized Them With Creepy Letters For 5 Years

It all started in 2014 when the Broaddus family bought what they thought was their dream home in Westfield, New Jersey.

Derek, Maria and their three kids couldn’t wait to begin their new chapter inside the beautiful, $1.4 million six-bedroom house. Unfortunately, they never even got to move in.

Shortly after purchasing the home, Derek and Maria began receiving mysterious and threatening letters from an anonymous author who signed them as “The Watcher.” The letters kept arriving in the mailbox of their new home while it was being renovated.

“The Watcher” said the Westfield house had belonged to his family’s for many years and that he was its faithful guardian.

One note read: “657 Boulevard has been the subject of my family for decades now and as it approaches its 110th birthday, I have been put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming. My grandfather watched the house in the 1920s and my father watched in the 1960s. It is now my time.”

After five years of virtual torture, the Broaddus family sold the house without ever even moving in — despite the fact they took a huge hit and sold it for $400,000 less than they originally paid.

That’s because, in a chilling twist, it seemed as though The Watcher was literally keeping his eye on the Broaddus family from afar…
