Entertainment Tonight’s Matt Cohen Returns To ‘General Hospital’ Set Where He Played Dr. Munro

When you think about long-running television series, you may forget about soap operas. The truth of the matter is, daytime soaps have found generations of viewers who are always ready to tune in. General Hospital, for example, has been on the air for over 55 years.

The soap debuted on April 1, 1963, and has won a Guinness World Record for being the longest-running American soap opera that’s still in production. The show has had a rotating cast throughout the years. They’ve also helped launch careers for famous actors and actresses before they became household names. Mark Hamill, John Stamos, Amber Tamblyn, and Demi Moore are just a few of the big names that have appeared on set throughout the decades.

Matt Cohen from Entertainment Tonight went backstage to showcase some of the most popular sets. And, it’s kind of a bittersweet tour for Matt. He, himself appeared on the show as neurosurgeon Dr. Griffin Munro. He was featured for three years before saying goodbye in 2019. For Matt, this was the first time revisiting the set since filming his last episode.

Prior to his exit, Matt filmed 271 episodes of the show. But this year, he chose to come back and film a few more episodes as Dr. Munro. This video, in a way, the equivalent of having two of his most notable jobs collide.

Watch the video and see how close the cast is — even when a technical error threatens to ruin a scene.
