Elon Musk And Grimes Change Their Baby’s Name To Include Roman Numerals

Elon Musk and singer Grimes made headlines when they had their first baby earlier this month. Of course, they gave their son a totally out there name. I mean, what could we expect from the couple that loves to walk to the beat of their own drum?

The baby’s name was originally X Æ A-12. But that didn’t work out as planned. The couple was told that the name didn’t comply with California state law. Names cannot include numeric characters or diacritical marks like “ñ” or “ç,” which are used to signify pronunciation in other languages. They can only include the letters of the alphabet.

Now, the couple has reportedly renamed their baby… but it’s not that far off from the original. The baby’s new name will be X Æ A-Xii. Yes, those are roman numerals. There is still a dash in the name, but apparently, it makes the cut.

Grimes confirmed the name change on social media, saying that she’s into the new look. “Roman numerals. Looks better tbh.”

That may be true, but as for pronouncing the name, we’re totally lost. We aren’t really sure where the name comes from or what it means. Chances are, we’ll find out soon enough.
