Cop Stops Couple Trying To Shoplift Food For Their Hungry Children—And Buys Their Groceries

In November 2019, a couple from Arkansas walked into Walmart with their two young children. Both adults were allegedly caught shoplifting some food.

It just so happened that Field Training Officer Kenneth Martin of the Fort Smith Police Department was shopping at Walmart, too. He was there picking up sports equipment for Toys for Tots when he got a call on his radio about the couple trying to steal their groceries at the same store.

Officer Martin headed up to the customer service counter. The man was promptly arrested — but he reportedly made sure to tell the authorities that he didn’t want his kids to go hungry.

Officer Martin heard the man’s words and was named employee of the month because of what he did next… and the whole thing was captured on his body cam.
