A conservative Christian mom blogger has caused an uproar on social media after posting a chart called “Should Mothers Have Careers?” The chart is, according to most moms in the comments, absolutely ridiculous.
Lori Alexander posted the chart on the Transformed Wife, her blog about Christian motherhood and marriage. The text is set up like a flowchart, with working moms’ lives on one side and stay-at-home moms’ lives on the other.
On the working mom side, life progressively gets worse and worse.
“Away from home hours every day,” the chart reads. “Comes home exhausted. Dinner is usually fast food or microwaved.” Also: “Too tired for intimacy with husband.”
For stay-at-home moms, though, life is apparently a breeze.
“Home all day long,” the chart says. “Rests while her children nap. Dinner is from scratch, nutritious, and delicious. Reads to children, plays games, disciplines, teaches about Jesus all day long.”
Spoiler alert: The chart concludes that stay-at-home moms have way better lives.
Well, both working moms and stay-at-home moms flocked to Lori’s comments to prove her wrong, and their responses are spot-on.
