When it comes to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, no one is more recognizable than Adriana Lima. The 37-year-old model has been with the brand since 1999, when she was just 18 years old.
Adriana was contracted as a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2000, and she has walked in the fashion show almost every year since (she missed the 2009 show because she was pregnant). In 2017, she was named “the most valuable Victoria’s Secret Angel.”
The 2018 fashion show marked her 20th time appearing on the Victoria’s Secret runway. It also marked her final appearance.
During the show, Adriana got emotional. After all, she has been participating in this show for more than half her life!
While she strutted down the runway, Adriana got a standing ovation. At the end of the runway, she paused to take in the moment — she put her hands to her heart to express her love for all her fans.
On the day of the show, Adriana also took to Instagram to write a special note. She said, “Dear Victoria, Thank you for showing me the world, sharing your secrets, and most importantly not just giving me wings but teaching me to fly.”
Although Victoria’s Secret has been embroiled in controversy recently, we can all agree that Adriana Lima has represented the brand well over the past 20 years.
