10-Year Old Boy Is Challenged To Mow 50 Lawns For Free And He Accepts To Help People In Nee

A 10-year-old boy in Odessa, Missouri, is taking on a big challenge. He is giving free lawn care to 50 people.

“He mows for disabled people, veterans, elderly, single moms, people who can’t or don’t have the time,” his mom, Sabrina Carty, said.

As part of the 50 Yard Challenge, the fifth-grader is volunteering his time and services thanks to the organization behind the challenge, Raising Men Lawn Care Service.

“I really like mowing,” Aidan said. “You get to spend time outside, and it’s cool to watch the grass change from really tall to really short.”

Raising Men Lawn Care Service encourages children to accept the challenge. Once they do, they send a picture to the organization, and in return, they get a shirt, safety glasses, and ear protection. Aidan accepted the challenge and has completed two yards so far and has more lawn care jobs lined up.

“I just want to cut their yards so they don’t have to do it,” the fifth-grader said. He also hopes can inspire other kids to join him in helping others through the challenge. He says he wants “to get kids that spend time indoors, playing on their Xbox or phones, to go outside and actually be interactive with nature, actually be outside.”

Sabrina, of course, is proud of her son. “He keeps asking, ‘Mom is there anybody that needs my help?’” she said.

This year-round challenge includes all types of lawn care—from leaf removal to snow shoveling. Upon completion of the challenge, Raising Men Lawn Care gifts participants with a new lawnmower, weed eater, and blower.
