Marshall Mosher was mountain biking down the Sope Creek Trail in Atlanta when he was bitten by a snake… and he captured the frightening incident on camera.
Marshall knew what needed to be done, and part of that was to not panic.
“One of the first things that we’re supposed to do is identify what the snake is,” he told Inside Edition. “If you get bit by a venomous snake, you need to know what the type is so you can get the anti-venom.”
He realized he’d just been attacked by a venomous copperhead whose bite could potentially be lethal.
According to LiveScience.com, “Copperhead snakes are some of the more commonly seen North American snakes. They’re also the most likely to bite, although their venom is relatively mild, and their bites are rarely fatal for humans.”
Marshall acted quickly and used his phone to locate the closest hospital with anti-venom on-hand.
