After the death of Osman Ghazi, when succession became an issue that could lead to violent civil war, Alaeddin Ali accepted his position graciously.
He submitted to his brother Orhan Ghazi rule, offering his allegiance and thus gaining the respect of the government and of the people.
Alaeddin Ali used his knowledge properly and made the most important contributions to the Ottoman Empire.
